 PRELOGUE:

Donation of posthumous body and deceased-donor’s organ transplantation are important and sensitive issues having enourmous scientific and social values. The primary scientific and educative importances are (i) Anatomical Examination, (ii) Medical Research, and (iii) Education and Training. However, the issues of organ transplantation from the donated deceased bodies are getting momentum globaly for the marvel of medical research. This truly needs scientific and technological understanding of the different stakeholders including medical professionals, administrators, policy makers, members of the civil society, and finally, the people. Besides scientific and technical issues, there are many existing social beliefs and taboos as well as legal and ethical aspects, which are not less important to be addressed to achieve success of this movement. Keeping primarily all these in the backdrop, the project was formulated with the aims (i) to raise scientific understanding of posthumous body donation among people, (ii) to sensitize people about different aspects of organ transplantation and usefulness of transplantation from a posthumous donor, and (iii) to help enriching medical research and education through posthumous body donation.
