About Us

Ganadarpan was established in the year 1977 and registered under the Societies of Registration act, West Bengal, in the year 1980. The organisation was formed by a number of individuals from the cultural and social work field with the idea of propagating scientific temper and rationalism. From 1985, Ganadarpan along with other activities decided to work in a very specific field, that is to motivate individuals in our society to donate their bodies after death for the promotion of medical science. Since then it has been playing an important role in this area where very little social intervention has taken place. Working entirely on a voluntary basis, a great deal of ground has been covered till date. However, to make it a countrywide issue, needs sustained effort and involvement. Therefore, Ganadarpan feels it to be necessary that its early efforts towards motivating people should continue and with this in mind it plans to take up the work in the coming period.
